Castor Bay Project
Work In Progress….
The client approached seeking an eccentric and characterful design solution for the renovation of their historic French‑style villa. In the main kitchen, the brief was to create highly functional joinery that reads more like crafted furniture than traditional cabinetry. The refrigeration zone was conceived as a reinterpretation of an antique armoire, complete with solid rosewood mouldings, curved crown detailing, and furniture‑style doors. The island is designed in solid American oak with custom‑turned legs, reinforcing the furniture‑like aesthetic. Its rear elevation doubles as a display cabinet, lined with antiqued mirrored glass to reflect light and showcase the client’s extensive glassware collection.
Design was progressed into the developed concept stage and production of the kitchen has started.
